Achmea Real Estate acquires 110 homes in Rotterdam

Nieuw Oden consists of two residential towers directly adjacent to Hoogvliet shopping centre (Binnenban), with a total of 211 homes. The healthcare property fund is acquiring the lower tower, comprising 86 age-friendly homes, 24 studio apartments for first-time buyers, 51 parking spaces and community facilities on the ground floor.

The homes have been specifically designed for seniors who wish to live independently. Residents can make use of a communal living room and a meeting space. The ground floor will also accommodate community facilities, including primary care services.

Daan Tettero, manager of the Achmea Dutch Health Care Property Fund: “With Nieuw Oden, we are investing in a residential concept that responds to the growing need for age-friendly homes. By combining housing, social interaction and amenities, we create an environment where residents can live independently for longer. Moreover, the project will make a positive contribution to the further development of Hoogvliet.”

The second residential tower, De Hoge’, comprises 101 three- and four-room apartments, which will go on sale in October. “We are proud to reach this milestone together with our partners. With construction well underway and sales of De Hoge starting in October, we are taking an important step in the transformation of Hoogvliet’s centre,” said Jeroen Nieuwenhuis, project developer at Sustay.

The project is being realised by Bouwonderneming Stout and will achieve an average energy performance rating of A++. Completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2029.
