Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance welcomes another participant in Achmea Dutch Health Care Property Fund (ADHCPF). Pension fund ‘BPF Schoonmaak’ joins the healthcare property fund with 50 million euros. Recently, Coöperatie DELA also joined the fund with a mandate of 100 million euros.

"Our participant survey shows that our participants consider affordable care important. By investing in Syntrus Achmea's healthcare real estate fund, we want to make our contribution to this," says Walther Schapendonk, executive director of BPF Schoonmaak, which provides the pension scheme for over 500,000 (former) cleaners and window cleaners.

"Including mandates from existing customers, we will have raised almost 300 million euros in new capital in 2022," says fund manager Daan Tettero. "That is a tremendous vote of confidence, in this asset class and in our fund's strategy. Investors know they can rely on making a high social impact and an appropriate financial return. Ensuring a dignified old age is a shared ambition."

On behalf of the participants in the ADHCPF, Syntrus Achmea has in recent years invested heavily in new complexes, clustering lifetime homes with healthcare in the immediate vicinity. Together with Zilveren Kruis, also part of Achmea, Syntrus Achmea is committed to contribute to the realisation of at least 450,000 age-appropriate homes by 2040 to provide a healthy and suitable home for the rapidly growing group of people over 65.

Syntrus Achmea has been investing in healthcare real estate for more than 10 years with an excellent track record. With a portfolio of over 700 million euros, the ADHCPF is the largest fund in the Netherlands focused on healthcare real estate for institutional investors. Last year, ADCPF was named the world's most sustainable healthcare real estate fund in the leading GRESB benchmark for the second consecutive year with an improved score of another two percent.
